Tahoe and the Mini G Love Tour

H and Riley snacking on yogurt pretzels before bed. Note to self: hide treats the parents and friends want to enjoy - a tub of multicolored yogurt pretzels is absolutely impossible to ignore, especially if you are 2!

We had such a nice time with the UCSB friends at the McHale's cabin in Donner over Super Bowl weekend. I couldn't figure out why H was so off the whole time and not as into playing with his pals and running around as he normally is - but as this pic clearly captures and I apparently did not realize until we were home, H was getting two new molars and had a double ear infection, hence the sad face. Oh well, still SO great to spend time with our friends in Tahoe!

A few weeks later, I snuck off for a teeny little one night break for Jen's birthday to see G Love at South Shore...only a few days after a great show in Sac. G Love groupies you say? Yep!

Basketball at Pizza

Blurry pics aside, Harrison is following the footsteps of his mother and her brother, cousins and tens of thousands of other happy people who have all enjoyed the magic that is the basketball game at Warehouse Pizza. I actually no longer think it is normal for children NOT to play inside of the game and try to climb up it. Without prompting and the knowledge that all of his cousins spent hours and thousands of dollars in quarters doing the same thing, H immediately left the chair we had set up and just jumped right into the game! The next generation of the Schonfeld Family has officially arrived at Pizza, Uncle Ken!

Facebook, you're next

I am officially playing catch-up...downloading pics from oh, December, onto the computer and attempting to organize photos and share them. I don't exactly know where my time goes sometimes but then a full memory card on the camera, myriad emails lacking a response in the inbox, voicemails that still haven't received a call back, FB wall posts and notes also lacking acknowledgement and response all point to the fact that I'm not doing a very awesome job keeping up with everything. *Sigh*. Here's to productive down time, reconnecting I hope!

The Veggie Chase

Harrison completed his first fun run yesterday - the Veggie Chase Toddler Trot. He was totally into the running and even did a whole warm-up session, jogging around the field before the actual start of his "race". The kids ran about 100 yards down to some nice folks dressed up as carrots and 100 yards back to collect their very appropriately colored orange and green race ribbon. The photo really captures H's impression of the whole event!

El Pasaporte

Once upon a time, Harrison's mom almost had to travel out of the country to staff her boss on an official trip. Clearly said mother felt that leaving her child for 10 days would be a bit much so she hatched a plan for Harrison and his dad to come meet her for the last leg of the trip. But there was the little problem posed by 1) Harrison's lack of a passport 2) Harrison's mom's lack of a current passport with her current name 3) Harrison's dad's lack of a current passport.

Enter the "Expedited" passport process. Many, many, many more dollars and checks later, all three Z'bergs have current passports, with current legal names, with current photos (side bar: Harrison's mom's first submitted photo was REJECTED by the US Department of State. Why you ask? The very diplomatic - I know, clever pun right? - lady who called said something about too much light and maybe being slightly out of focus but what she really wanted to say is that they don't accept photos that are so seriously bad with subjects looking far too much like an escaped institution patient with super crazy eyes. Thanks Kinkos photo guy for that fun inconvenience):

Yes, most official document photos are bad but this is rrreeeeaaalllly bad. And insane looking. And wrong in so many ways! I really don't look like this all the time, right?!?

Since the work trip never happened, we almost kind of need an international desitination aka reason to put these things to use! Hmmm... a trip to Africa to see a favorite long lost friend or fun in New Zealand with the Meadows clan? Watch out world, these (some still scary looking despite second attempts at photos) people may be exploring you soon!

I think you have the wrong Sarah Z'berg

AARP is about 20 years early...either their marketing department is especially aggressive these days or someone is playing an awesome joke on me.

I think I will go ahead and take a pass on my junior membership here at age 31 and continue enjoying the benefits of Grandma Barbara's membership (she'll be 81 next month, by the way) in the form of the hand-me-down AARP magazines she always has for me!
